Skill Training
English as a second language (ESL) classes are offered to help non-native speakers to communicate in English through the development of skill in listening and observing, speaking reading, and writing. At the beginning level, emphasis is on improving listening comprehension, vocabulary development, and English structure. The courses advance to notetaking, composition, oral presentation, and class discussion at the more advance’s levels.
Counselling
Masaalik Center offers counselling to families and individuals. Counselling is offered through the center of Washington religious office and is available by appointment.
All counseling services are confidential and will be held in strict confidence, except information that mandates legal disclosure to state or law enforcement authorities and agencies; child abuse, danger to self or others crimes criminal acts.
Legal Assistance
We assist are asylum seekers at the center to register and get an attorney to look at their case before they see the judge.
